The City in the 21st Century
Published in collaboration with the Penn Institute for Urban Research, The City in the 21st Century is a heterodox, interdisciplinary series of books addressing both topical and long-range issues confronting the world’s cities, from disaster response to cultural coexistence, from civic engagement to urban revitalization.
March 2023 marks a notable milestone: the publication of the fiftieth book in The City in the 21st Century series. Inaugurated in 2006, the collaboration with Penn IUR has grown to become the cornerstone of Penn Press’s urban studies list and our highest profile venue for books on contemporary urban policy.
